John’s Island Vero Beach New Construction

The final product resulted in a bright, beautiful, and airy home with modern accents. A relaxed, home with a contemporary take on a traditional home interior design.

Jill Shevlin Design provided full-service interior design for her long-time clients’ newly constructed home in John’s Island, Vero Beach. By far the most rewarding aspect of any new construction project is the designer’s ability to work with clients to select and specify every item from the beginning of the project.
This allows for a cohesive design in collaboration with the architect and builder. Early in the design process, long before the first wall goes up, designer and client are deciding on every detail including beautiful flooring, countertops, cabinets, faucets, bathroom tiles, custom built-ins, light fixtures, faucets, pool tiles and driveway pavers.
The final product resulted in a bright, beautiful, and airy home with modern accents. A relaxed, home with a contemporary take on a traditional home interior design.
This ambiance flows throughout the entire residence with a light blue and neutral color palette while incorporating many cherished furniture pieces as well as the homeowners art collection.
The heart of the home is a modern yet homey kitchen that pairs quartz countertops with a chic chevron marble backsplash and white cabinets. An oversized airy light fixture hangs above the furniture style island stained in a soft gray. Casual, beachy counter stools sit at the island which serves as a workspace, storage solution, and dining area.
A warm, modern-meets-traditional home office that met both spouses’ wishes perfectly — a light, bright place to work from home, while still incorporating wood tones. It was a requirement to have a place to store the family's large collection of books. In lieu of traditional raised panel mill work, Jill skillfully designed the custom woodwork to be a traditional library with custom-stained bookcase box inserts to complement the wood floors.
The master bathroom is a vision in white with double marble vanities and custom designed cabinets. There is ample room for storage with medicine cabinet towers on each side of the vanity. A free-standing tub, an oversized walk-in shower, and separate water closets for him & her complete the serene bathroom.
There is plenty of room for guests, with a bunk room dedicated to kids of all ages. Jill designed the bunks for the narrow room to include storage drawer steps and a wood ship-lap wall to avoid any fingerprints on the walls. Each bunk has it's own nautical inspired wall sconce light placed perfectly beside the pillow. Two queen beds sit side by side in the guest bedroom adjoining the bunk room with a Jack & Jill bath between the rooms.
The John’s Island Vero Beach home turned out to be a lovely, welcoming, and relaxing John's Island home that the owners’ children and grandchildren all want to live in.
