Windsor vero beach
Renovation

YOUR DREAM HOME STARTS HERE
WINDSOR, FL Charleston Drive
Timeless and traditional style shine in this Windsor Vero Beach renovation. Jill Shevlin Design worked closely with the homeowner to transform a dated and formal Vero Beach home into a comfortable, simple, and elegant abode for a growing family. Together, they reimagined the space to achieve an end result that exceeded expectations.
Jill had previously collaborated with these clients 10 years prior and understood their vision and tastes. When she previewed the home, there were over-the-top touches like a marble Grecian goddess fireplace mantle, two-tone millwork, and a dark, cavernous billiards room that simply did not align with the owners’ evolved style.
So, Jill worked with the homeowners to cut through the busy and gaudy details to uncover and highlight marvelous architectural details that were muzzled by the previous design. The siren fireplace mantle and bookcases were replaced with simple white panels and a black surround. Dark wood tones were selected for the furnishings to complement the original millwork. The “less is more” approach in this renovation design lets the homeowner’s authentic style — and the home’s true beauty — shine through.
The stunning black-and-white marble entryway offers an air of formality, which Jill skillfully worked to offset using casual fabrics and bold colors. Comfort was a requirement in this project, as the home needed to accommodate a growing family with four grandchildren and a handful of pets. Jill leaned into simple furnishings and design and turned the billiards room into a home theater that can be effortlessly enjoyed by all.
The billiards room started as a dark green cavern that matched the pool table. After the Windsor renovation, it became much more welcoming and comfortable. Moving away from the original green, Jill and the owners selected a black and tan color combination — even the pool table felt color was changed. Textural elements and traditional light fixtures were added, which made the room feel laidback and cozy.
Throughout the residence, Jill was able to mute the noisy and poorly-executed details to create a simple and elegant space. The owners said the home renovation design exceeded expectations, thus turning their Windsor Vero Beach house into their favorite home they’ve lived in — by far.
